Job Description
As part of a team, this individual will be responsible for development and unit testing of new features for Wasabi product lines as well as maintenance of products. This individual will focus on support for Microsoft storage capabilities such as Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS). The successful candidate will work with the Product Management team to define product features and capabilities; will work with the SW validation team to provide input on and review of validation plans; will develop or provide input into project schedules and will be accountable for meeting development milestones.
Key Responsibilities
• Architectural definition of key features for Wasabi products based on Product Requirements Document.
• Implementation and documentation of features using C/C++ in a NetBSD environment.
• Coordinating and participation in architecture and peer code reviews.
• Implementing and documenting unit tests.
• Working with validation team to ensure that all features are strenuously tested.
• Development of project schedules, tracking progress and reporting status and issues.
Requirements
• Bachelor degree in CS, CE, EE or related technical field is required; Masters degree is a plus.
• 10 years minimum of software development experience with a minimum of 5 years of direct storage experience.
• Proven expert level experience in NetBSD, BSD, Linux, or other UNIX-based OS, including: - Kernel level programming
- Device drivers (especially storage devices)
- Multi-threaded applications
- TCP/IP
- File system working knowledge
- TCP/IP • Working knowledge of advanced storage concepts including virtualization, replication, failover and clustering.
• Strong C/C++ experience
• Networked storage device experience (iSCSI, SCSI, RAID, SAN, NAS)
• Proven software architecture/design experience
• Located in Norfolk
