Wasabi is growing and we are developing exciting storage networking technology. Currently, we are searching for a candidate with a strong background in usability and user experience expertise. This position requires a strong communicator who can facilitate activities with our users and stakeholders, work collaboratively with analysts and developers in a multidisciplinary team, and document the design for software specifications. Successful candidates will have: - Ability to quickly understand the constraints of a design problem and identify options
- Strong analytical skills to identify problems and successes in layout, architecture, flow, or design
- Solid interaction design skills and familiarity with system and page-level interactions
- Proven track record in application/software design
Some key responsibilities of the position: - Research User Interface and Graphic Design trends
- Perform evaluations of the user interface
- Participate and collaborate in concept development and design ideas
- Work directly with Web Development and (Software) Engineering on design solutions that align with the design vision and user needs
- Work with the larger development team to address on-going design bugs
- Push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web to create better experiences for users
- Plan, design, and conduct UI designs
- Drive processes from conceptualization through prototyping to implementation
- Foster a collaborative environment to successfully communicate UI requirements, best practices and guidelines to developers and designers
- Conduct task/workflow analyses of existing and emerging user work practices to create specifications for every action, interaction and result and to translate requirements into a functional user interface design
Even better if you have: - Strong visual design skills and/or graphic design background
- At least 5+ year’s experience as key member of a design team
- At least 2+ years experience leading large design efforts
- Academic background in human factors/ergonomics, cognitive science, psychology or HCI
- Design experience in mobile or desktop software
- Experience creating or maintaining interface guidelines in a software ecosystem environmentace
